Primitive Land Animal

The land animals on Spirit began its evolution on the warm ocean shallow water mud flats at the bottom, of the Pence ocean. This animal called Peland has identified as the earliest known creature to crawl out of the ocean bed and washed up foreshore at Pence harbor. It showed that Peland had primitive breathing structures on the outside of its body to function on the land environment. They may have evolved limbs in order to move more effectively through shallow and weed-choked waters, and the real move onto land may have begun after they had acquired the ability to walk.

Land Animal Develop

The move to the land was a tremendous success that Peland began to develop organs to adapt to the land environment life style. The organs help it eat and digest the food found in the land and also help it moves in this environment. Peland was an evolve transition between a fish and a land creature that lived around 225 million years ago, and could grow to about five feet in length.

Coniferous Forests

In the coniferous forest there is a diversity of wildlife. Its animals has adapted to a life of long snowy winters and a short growing season, including the Conifox, the brownie fur-foxie. An average adult male weighs about 75lbs. - 120lbs. They have big teeth that the front teeth are used to kill prey. They also have large stomach that can eat as much as 20 pounds of food at one time, therefore they can go without food for two weeks or longer. Conifox eat almost any animal they can catch, and they hunt at any time of the day or night.

Conifox live in family groups that have about 8 members, some have more than 20. Some of them leave the family and travel alone until they find their mates that usually happen during the winter season. The female carries her young inside her body for about 63 days and gives birth to 1-11 con-pups weight 1 pound, in a den, a cave, a hollow log or underground.

Animal Fact

Name: Conifox
Habitat: Coniferous forest, open and brushy area
Diet: deer, bison, rabbit, beaver, and small mammals
Size: Up to 5 feet length
Tail Length: about 6 inches (15.5 cm)
Weight: 75-120 pounds
Description: Brown, black and white fur; large, upright, sensitive ears, big and sharp teeth, travel for miles.

Deciduous Forests

Decidog of Pence is a wild animal like dog in Earth. They inhabit temperate Deciduous forests in Pence and are very social dog that make variety of noises, including howl, hoot and high-pitched screams.

Decidog have long- body-sized dog with a red-brown coat and a pink tipped tail. The adults are about 4 feet long plus a 15inch long tail. They hunt, in small group of five or more adults, for deer, wild goats, and mountain sheep. Like any other dogs in the Earth, they find their prey using their keen sense of smell and then chase down the prey. Decidog are very good swimmers, and often chase their prey into the water to help catch it.

Tropical Forests

Different mammals thrive at different vertical levels in a tropical forest.  Especially adapted to life in the trees in the tropical forests are the Tromonk, which can grasp and hold branches while in rapid motion. With their special tail, the Tromonk have the additional help to hold and swing from tree to tree.

They rarely make noise and can move through the forest without being detected, even when traveling in groups. The groups are a mix of fifteen to thirty males, females, and their young.  Tromonk spend much of their time high in the forest trees searching for fruit, insects, and small vertebrates to eat.

Animal Fact

Name: Tromonk
Habitat: Tropical forests, river edges
Diet: Seeds, fruits, flowers, and small animals
Head and Body Length: 30 to 32 inches
Tail Length: about 16 inches
Weight: 17 to 21 pounds
Description: Short, dark brown fur; hairless face and forehead; pink to red skin color; long-bushy tail

Relationship Diagram

The following diagram shows how the animal life forms are related. The new species Peland that develop from a parent species are shown going down. These land animals could continue to evolve and diversify out into many different species of descendents in order to adapt to new environments. Species that develop from a common ancestor are shown side by side: Conifox, Decidog, and Tromonk
