Grasslands
Many plants and animals find the tropical rain forests of Populus to be a heaven for them. With the forests that are filled with plants and trees, animals have very little trouble finding food. As the temperature mostly remains warm around eighty to ninety Fahrenheit degrees, animals here do not have thick coats and different kind trees and plants produce beautiful flowers year round. But during the times when there is absolutely no rain for a few consecutive seasons, animals and plants have to compete for resources to survive.
Primary Producers
In this region, trees and plants of different sizes are seen everywhere; with Delenus being the largest, tallest tree- twelve feet high. On the other hand, Dendron - a long, thin, grass-like plant and Spring Lamanda -with the thorny first six inches from its base, are the smallest plants that can be found in the tropical rain forests. All of these described trees and plants are favorite vegetables for Sprite, an animal that is frequently found roaming around these trees. Plenty of other animals and birds rely on these trees and plants for survivals.
Primary Consumers
Sprite is an extremely fast moving animal. It spends its entire life eating Spring Lamanda and Dendron. Sprite's favorite fruits come from Delenus due to the fact that Delenus's fruits have delicious and sweet juice. One can also see Sprite gather Delenus' seeds during the fall and stock them in its nest for usage in the winter. Sprite is attracted by beautiful shiny red flowers that Delenus produces year round. In an indirect way, Sprite is used by Delenus since Delenus depends on birds and other species like Sprite to spread out its seeds to different locations in the forest.
Secondary Consumers
In the tropical rain forest, the two animals that Sprite considered its most dangerous enemies are Catira and Toup. Catiras, 400 pounds carnivores use their intelligence to survive. Even though Catira's diet consists of fruit and other plants, their main course of the day would be meat. Although Sprite is a speedy animal, it is not comparable to Catira's extreme speed. With 30 strong teeth, Catira would use its large piercing canines to grab and kill Sprite instantly. Similarly, Toup with its strong frontal teeth would break open Sprite when they hunt in groups. Toup with its naughty nature, would first suffocate Sprite with its paws, then just before its prey completely runs out of air, it would let go. So one can imagine how scared Sprite would be when it encounters Toup.
