Sonny's Land Animals

The Tika Family

Early Land Animals

The very first to live on land was Animola.  It originally produced electrical pulses to detect prey and paralyzed those unfortunate animals.  However the food pools had decreased due to the ever changing weather conditions and the competition from other species.  When food became harder to find, Animola was forced to find food elsewhere.  It happened that Animola now used its tiny, weak legs to climb out of water in search of food.  But during this time it could only stay out of water for a short period of time before it crawled back into the water.

Early Land Animals Adapt

After a long period of time, those Animola that climbed out of water started to feel much more comfortable in their new environment.  Since Animola had trained themselves to stay out of water for a much longer time frame, they now had evolved into Truka, a brown, cold blooded creature.  Truka found land to be an ideal place for food and reproduction.  They dragged their heavy four pound weight slowly along the coasts.  They were very active during night time and rested most of the time during the day.  With its sharp eyes and a blessed sense of smell it could detect its preys' location exactly.  It attacked and killed its prey with precision.  Truka soon traveled to different locations on land and some eventually adapted themselves to survive in the new environments.

Low Land Deserts

Those Truka that found their way to the deserts of Populus soon evolved into Tuma - a warm blooded animal.  Unlike its predecessor, Tuma found the dessert was a tough place to live in.  With the habitat so dry, Tuma had to growth thick skin to protect itself from sun burns.  It also found a quick way to move on the hot sand.  Hence it developed two strong legs enabling it to jump a far distance  to capture its prey.  It sometimes consumed small plants.  Besides its sixteen pound weight, it also had two small hands with sharp nails, allowing it to dig into tiny rock openings to search for food and fight off enemies.  With a small pouch by the stomach, Tuma used it to carry and protect its babies.

Tropical Rain Forests

Many Truka somehow navigated their ways to the tropical rain forests and evolved into Toup - the small 3 pound animals.  Toup was extremely agile and fast.  It was a warm blooded creature.  Toup loved to torture its captives before consuming them.  With the highly competitive environment that it lived in, Toup had to find ways to get to food before others dipped their hands in there.  It developed cushions under its feet, enabling it to move close to its prey and own them instantly.  Toups were also extremely smart.  When it came to take down stronger and bigger prey, they would cooperate amongst themselves and divide the food equally afterwards.  Unlike its relative, Tuma, it was very sexually active and frequently gave birth to four or five babies at a time.

Temperate Forests

Those Truka that made it to the temperate forests of Populus transformed themselves into Plume -   warm blooded five pound animals.  Plume's favorite location in the temperate forest was the wet sand.  During the mating season, their feathers turn orange to attract the opposite sex.  They also made a loud noise that traveled a far distance.  Their diet is usually made of small insects that hide in the ground or under leaves.  To be more efficient in digging out food, Plume's feet grew strong claws.  And to run away faster than its enemies, Plume grew two small wings.  It used its wings to add speed to its advantage.  Plume did not produce babies directly.  They first gave birth to two eggs during the spring season and these eggs would hatch into small Plume during the summer season.

Grasslands

Those Truka that made it to the grasslands of Populus evolved into Tapila - a two pound, warm blooded animal.  With a whole lot of vegetation, it had no difficulty whatsoever in looking for food.  Its primary diet was small plants and small insects.  It loved the new environment so much, however there was a danger to its survival due to its enemies, who would love to have it as a meal.  Similar to its relative, Plume, it also developed wings with feathers that allowed it to fly off the ground.  They loved to travel places in small groups.  It was very active in the morning and best known for its whistling.  To hide its eggs from the predators, Tapila would collect grass and make a nest up high in the trees.
