The Circumstances

The World Building at the core of this project is taking place in the heart of the California Gold Country, specifically in the towns of Auburn and Georgetown, and possibly in an automobile travelling on sections of Highways 49 and 193 (between Auburn and Georgetown), or on Highway 50 (between Georgetown and Sacramento).

The Mechanics of World Building

The authoring is being completed on machines running Windows NT and MacOS. Tools of the trade include Allaire Homesite, BBEdit, ClarisWorks, WS_FTP Pro, Fetch, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and Macromedia Dreamweaver and Director.

The Sacred Texts

Song of the Dodo: Island Biogeography in an Age of Extinctions by David Quamen
I've been working through this extremely intriguing and well-written text for the past year, and it has helped to focus my thinking on the building of Qui, especially with regard to the beginnings of life.

Biology: The Science of Life by Robert Ardell Wallace, Jack L. King, and Gerald P. Sanders
A thick Biology textbook from the undergraduate days....

After Man: A Zoology of the Future by Dougal Dixon
A very interesting book that explores evolution on Earth after the demise of humans. Interesting pictures and thought-provoking text.
