Many of Qui's predatory eels, such as those pictured at the left, hunt in packs. Coordinated hunting requires communication. Certain species of predatory eels have developed complex social structures and communication mechanisms. The eels pictured, for example, coordinate hunting efforts via a combination of eye gestures, and vocalizations such as clicks and pops. | |
| Qui's predators have evolved various mechanisms to ensure successful hunting. In addition to their razor-sharp teeth and sleek muscular bodies, evolution has endowed certain Carnivorous Eels with markings which function as natural lures. The eel represented to the right has markings which closely resemble those of the Flutterfish. The predator quietly waits for the naturally curious Flutterfish to investigate, snatching up the fish as it swims within striking range. | ![]() |
