Barbara Kay Markwood

My name is Barbara Markwood and I am a first quarter graduate student at Cal State Los Angeles.  I am studying for a Masters of Education in New Media Design and Production.  I grew up in Canoga Park but have lived in Orange County for over 20 years.  I graduated from Cal State Long Beach. 

I have two daughters and have spent the past several years as a parent volunteer in the public school system.  I have worked as a classroom volunteer, room mother, PTA treasurer, PTA president, Superintendent Parent Council auditor and Girl Scout leader.

I have been interested in computers for at least ten years and have been an avid internet user for three.  In addition to my classes at Cal State LA, I have taken several computer classes at Orange Coast College and Coastline Community College. Computers are my main hobby.  I also enjoy cooking, dancing and writing. 

Technology is advancing at such an immense rate, I believe computer education is essential as we move into the 21st century.
