Water Ecology (By Armando Pedroza)

Enod's coastal and rocky communities are two major biomes that house a diverse range of animal and plant life. These communities are found near the equatorial regions of Enodia and Arifica. The water is very warm. Plant and sea animals have been inhabitants of these communities for millions of years. The large rocks and a diverse range of primary producers provide shelter and food for many living organisms.

Many of these plants and animals have adapted to this environment by evolving new organs and structural defenses. Animals developed fins or a large foot that allowed them to move and forage for food. Others developed mouths or filtration systems that allowed them to take in food. Plants develop a photosynthetic system that allowed them to convert light energy into food. Many of these new adaptations found in sea animals guaranteed their their survival againt strong currents and predators found in the waters of Enod.

The wealth of plant life, minerals, and warm water found in these communities continue to provide theses organisms with opportunites to reproduce and form other communities throughout Enod.

Plants and Animals

Primary Producers

Luminaria (By: Armando Pedroza)

LAMINARIA is found near the surface of the water. It is a primary producer. It produces its own food by harveting the nuz's rays and using the energy, minerals, and gases found in the water to formulate its food. The plant varies in size. Its height can range between 6cm amd 30 cm. Many sea animals can be foud foraging on this palnt.

Rockchlorella (By Edwin Rivas)

ROCKCHLORELLA is also found near the surface of Enod's oceans. It thrives in warmer waters where light is more abundant. Its height can range between 6cm amd 30 cm. Chlorestem has tubular sausage like stems. Its thick cell walls helped it evolve into a stem like plant with small pockets of air within the stem. These bubbles help it reach the water surface where the bright green, chlorophyll filled stems, take full advantage of the nuz light to create all the food the plant needs to survive.

Chlorelliods (By:Edwin R.)

CHLORELLIODS are microscopic plant forms floating in the ocean and rivers. Chlorelliod is a single-celled alga. It has been able to survive on Enod because it has a tough outer shell that protectes its genetic integrity. Under strong sunlight, pure water and clean air, Chlorelloid multiplies at an incredible rate. It is a primary food source for filtering sea animals.

Primary Consumers

PLANOSPIRAL is a primary consumer that feeds on chlorelloids and small growing laminaria plants. It inhabits the rocky water of planet Enod. The thick shell protects the animal from predators and the strong coastal currents. Planospiral is about 4 cm in lenght and 3cm in height.

LARGO

LARGO gets its name from the Spanish word largo meaning long. It is a primary consumer that feeds on chlorelloids and small growing laminaria plants. It inhabits the rocky water of planet Enod. The thick scales and poisonous tentacles near its head protect it from predators (Larjaw and Greenfish). Largo is about 8 cm in lenght and 3cm in height. It uses its short fin-like flippers and tail to propel itself.

SLAGO

SLUGGO gets its name from the slugs found on planet Earth. It is also a primary consumer that feeds on chlorelloids by filtering them from the water. It inhabits the shallow rocky waters of planet Enod. The thick skin and poisonous tentacles near its head protect it from predators (Larjaw and Greenfish). Slago is about the size of a sea-cucumber. Slago hides under small rocks and between large plants.

Secondary Consumers

Greenfish (By Armando Pedroza)

GREENFISH is found near the euphonic zone. It is a secondary consumer that feeds on primary producers and consumers. Greenfish forages near the shallow rocky waters of planet Enod during the day. The thick skin and sharp teeth protect it from predators (Larjaw). Greenfish spends most of its time swimming away from larjaw. Greenfish is about the size of a goldfish. Greenfish hides between small rocks for protection.

Larjaw (By Edwin Rivas)

LARFISH dominates the food chain. It is found near the euphonic zone and roams throughout Enod's oceans in search of food. It is a secondary consumer that feeds on primary producers and consumers. Larfish's razor sharp teeth allow it to tear and swallow just about any plant or animal. The thick skin protect is from the harmful UV rays. Greenfish spends most of its time swimming away from larjaw. Larfish is about the size of a seabass.
