Enod's Weather

Enod Weather

Enod's tilt as is travels around its orbit around Nuz and heat produced by the Nuz star are the main forces behind Enod's weather. As Nuz's energy reaches Enod, the equatorial regions warm up more than the poles. Warm air and water at the equator travel towards the poles while cold air and water at the poles travel towards the equator in an attempt to equalize the temperature contrast. It is the atmosphere's continual struggle for temperature balance that brings about the ever changing weather on Enod.

Due to the equatorial location of Enod's two major land masses, Acirfa and Enodia, Enod's land weather is predominantly tropical. These two major continents are about seventy-five percent covered by rich tropical rain forests. These regions may receive from 70-180 inches of rain each year. All this rainfall produces a humid climate that helps support the largest variety of plants that are found on Enod. Much of the rain that falls on these regions is created by the plants themselves by a process called transpiration. The high humidity and heat causes the plants to release moisture from their leaves. The remaining ten percent of the these two land masses are covered by low lying plains and desserts. Rainfall is substantially less in these areas, thus giving them a warm but dry climate that sustains a variety, but a limited number, of plants and animals.

The other continents found on the planet Enod are its polar land masses (Nortia and Surdea.) They are completely covered by a perpetual layer of snow and ice. This layer contains about 65 percent of Enod's fresh water supply. These two continents also help

Seasons

Enod Summer (By Edwin A. Rivas)Due to the continents equatorial location, summers on Enod tend to be very warm and humid. Temperatures can range from 80°F to 115°F. Due to all the evaporation that takes place after rain storms, the humidity in a rain forest may climb above 95%.

Once the fall season arrives on Enod, the weather begins to change a little. These climate changes are mild with temperatures dropping only about ten degrees in most areas. The temperature does drop the most on higher elevations and at the polar zones. Temperatures on Enod during the fall season may range from 50°F to 90°F.

Enod Winters ( By Edwin A. Rivas)

Winters on Enod are also relatively warm. During these winter months the planet's equatorial region experiences hundreds of strong thunderstorms. In many parts of the continent, hurricanes and floods are very common. These storms and weather changes are a necessary and intricate part of the planet's ecosystem. They provides the much needed water to sustain the life on the planet.

The arrival of Spring brings about other changes on this planet. The storms that have battered the continents during the summer nothing but a faint memory as soon new vegetation begins to emerge. Because of it's predominantly tropical regions, Enod is never barren. Yet new plant growth can still be seen among the thick forest as the water flow begin to subside.

All four of these seasons are possible because of Enod's tilt as it rotates on it's orbit around the Nuz star.
