Carolyn Hancock

I am entering my second year in the Instructional Technology Master's Degree program in the School of Education at the California State University at Los Angeles. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and have worked for many years in software engineering. I worked on the Magellan mission to Venus at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for 7 years and thoroughly enjoyed watching while planetary geologists made new discoveries and proposed new theories about our solar system.

My main area of interest in my major is the World Wide Web and the interconnectivity it enables. I have designed a children's game on the Web for the KCET television station, promoting the two locally produced children's shows on that network. I have also worked with faculty at Cal State LA to produce Web pages to help students and faculty create home pages. I am greatly looking forward to the World Builders project as we share our information and creativity. I will be interested to see what kind of community we create during the class since distance is not a barrier on the Internet.
